How To Tow A Fifth Wheel With A Gooseneck Hitch

Written by Hitchweb Team Thursday, May 28, 2015

How do I tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer with my Gooseneck Hitch?

YOU HAVE 2 OPTIONS:

OPTION #1: If you already have a Gooseneck Hitch Ball installed in the bed of your truck, you can purchase a 5th Wheel Hitch that installs in the ball hole of the Gooseneck hitch. Have a look at B&W Trailer Hitch RVK3500 B&W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch:

20K Companion 5th Wheel This Fifth Wheel Hitch sits right on top of a B&W Turnover Ball. Pull only 1 pin and the hitch removes completely from the bed. A great option if you want to frequently switch between trailer types.

If you don't have the B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitch System, go to our under bed gooseneck...

Written by Hitchweb Team Wednesday, May 27, 2015

What is the difference between a 1-Plug and 2-Plug unit Brake Control Wiring Harness?

All vehicle specific Brake Control Wiring Harnesses are available in 1-Plug or 2-Plug styles:

Brake Control Tee, 1 Plug Style - Dodge

1-Plug units are designed for brake controls manufactured with electrical wiring mounted on the back  on the unit. This is also know as the pigtail. Wiring harnesses must be spliced into the existing pigtail to  allow the vehicle specific plug to be installed.

Experiencing Sway on Built In Sway Control System

Written by Hitchweb Team Thursday, May 21, 2015

Is it common to experience sway on a weight distrubution system with built-in sway?

It is common to experience sway on a weight distribution system with built in sway control under the following circumstances:

1) It is a windy day
2) The tire pressure on your trailer or vehicle is low

If you are still experiencing sway on days with low to no wind, and your tire pressure is at its recommended level, contact the manufacturer's tech team to see what can be done. Unfortunately, on many built-in sway control systems you are unable to adjust the sway control so you may be limited for options, although that may be different with sway control kits like the Dual Cam Sway Controls.
