Installing and Using Rhino Rack Folding Kayak Carriers

Written by HITCHWEB CANADA Thursday, July 22, 2021

Installing the Rhino Rack Folding J Kayak Carrier on Vortex Crossbars

Loading your Rhino Rack Folding J Kayak carrier is about as easy as it gets.

  • Fit the bracket under the bar and tighten the screws - you don't want to over tighten them.
  • Rotate the arms up and lock it in position by pulling the large tab out and locking it back in.
  • If you have the additional extension do the same on the other side, so they are mirrored.
  • To load your kayak lift it into place, do not drag it.
  • Secure your kayak by looping the straps on the arm of the kayak carrier and around the kayak, securing it on your cross bar on both sides.
  • Use the longer tiedowns to secure the front and rear of your kayaks to your vehicle for extra security.

Now you're ready to take your Kayak's anywhere!

We found that sliding the plate nut under the bracket and screwing the bolts until it catches worked great just...

First Step: Open the boxes and make sure you have everything you need:

Get your crossbars and sit them on the 2011 Acura MDX's factory rails so that the leg assembly...
