How to Safely Transport Bikes in my Truck Bed?

Rather than laying your bikes down on their sides in your truck box you can secure your bicycle in a truck bed bike rack for easy and safe transport. With our fork style pickup bed racks from Rhino Rack and Swagman you'll just need to lock your forks to the bar and hit the road! Not only is this a much safer way to transport your bike, it also prevents what can be a very valuable investment from getting banged around and scratched during transport.

One of our most popular truck bed racks - the PATROL from Swagman - is a great choice for any pickup!

Bike Racks for Pickup Truck Beds in CanadaThe Patrol bike rack allows you to transport 2 bikes in your truck bed. A telescoping aluminum bar will fit any size of truck, and it adjusts in small increments so you can get a perfect fit to your side rails.

To install simply open the cam lever to release the telescoping arm. Pull the arm out until the end pads rest against your side rails, and then use the micro adjustment knob to get a tight fit. If you prefer, you can also use the pre-drilled holes in each end pad to bolt the carrier onto your truck-bed side rails.

Bikes easily install on the rack. Place your bikes forks onto the fork block skewers, tighten the nuts, and close the cam-action levers. Fork mounts can be repositioned along the telescoping bar to have better bike spacing.

You can view this Swagman rack along with all our other bike racks for pickup trucks on our Pickup Bed Bike Racks page. If you have any questions our Hitchweb outdoor recreation experts are always happy to help! Contact us at info@hitchweb.com or call toll free 1-800-300-4067
