Bed Liner Removal For Fifth Wheel Hitch Installation

Do I need to remove my bed liner to install a fifth wheel hitch?

Bed Liners

As fifth wheel hitch bed rails require direct metal to metal contact with the truck bed and to avoid deterioration of the liner under the rails which could cause the rails to become loose, the plastic liner would need to be trimmed away.

If your vehicle has a spray-in type liner, you can install the fifth wheel hitch rails directly on top of it.

View our selection of Fifth Wheel Hitches for short or long box.

Hi Ken - We have 2 options available for your vehicle - https://www.hitchweb.com/product/88/VGD-10-100/5th-Wheel-Tailgate-100-Series-Dodge or https://www.hitchweb.com/product/88/VGD-10-4000/5th-Wheel-Tailgate-4000-Series-Dodge Both options are specifically for use as a 5th wheel tailgate and have a louvered design for better visibility and reduced drag. With a wider cut out on the tailgate part# VGD-10-4000 will be the best fit for what you're looking for and as of 04/28/17 we have plenty in stock. If you'd like to discuss your options further please contact us! 1-800-300-4067 or info@hitchweb.com Thank you! Hitchweb Team
